“Card Nest is a greeting card and stationery brand, creating a range of contemporary and design-focused cards and gift wrap. Working directly with exciting and talented artists from around the world, we produce collections of paper goods that bring joy to both sender and recipient.” Founded in 2014 in Bristol, UK, Card Nest was born out of the desire to share the feeling of receiving a special something in the mail. To be the recipient of a meaningful message is so much sweeter than a digital message, especially in today’s technology focused society.

Feature Designer: Carolyn Draws

“Carolyndraws is the brainchild of Toronto-based Illustrator, letterpress printer and people watcher, Carolyn Verkuyl.”

Carolyn’s art form is a true labour of love. Her illustrations and fonts are all hand drawn, she mixes her own inks, and works on an old, manual letterpress that prints only one sheet of paper at a time. She prints, cuts, folds, trims and packages each card individually.

Local Feature Artist: Ochre Lea

Cate Kuzik is a local, community-taught artist currently creating her letterpress creations in Edmonton as Ochre Lea (oh-kerr-lee). Fueled by a passionate connection to traditional handmade techniques during this increasingly digital age her goods are made with an emphasis on fun, bright colours, and graphics with mildly inappropriate phrases to make folks smile.
