The LAMY Lx is essentially a luxury edition of the AL-Star, with some subtle, but key differences. The AL-Star is an anodized aluminum barrel and certainly resembles the Lx, but if you look closely you’ll see what makes it a luxury pen. Firstly, the metallic finish has a lovely sheen which is more refined, and the LAMY logo is more apparent in a polished shine. Next, and most obviously, you’ll note the gorgeous precious metal details adorning the finials and matching clip.
